State of New Jersey Executive Department
WHEREAS, the development of technological business opportunities and
improvement of life for our population are top priorities of the State of New
Jersey; and
WHEREAS, Consumer electronics, websites, and other technologies are frequently
difficult to use; and
WHEREAS, every citizen has a right to expect products and services that are easy
to use; and
WHEREAS, The New Jersey chapters of the Usability Professionals' Association
(UFA), Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), and Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) have united to educate the public about the
benefits of usability engineering and user-centered design for creating
easy-to-use products and services; and
WHEREAS, The international World Usability Day events that will take place on
November 14, 2006 will raise awareness of how it is possible to make everyday
products and experiences better for all people; and
WHEREAS, on November 14, 2006, New Jersey will be joined in spirit by event
participants in countries on every continent except Antarctica, who will unite
on this day around the theme of "Making Life Easy";
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JON S. CORZINE, Governor of the State of New Jersey, do
hereby recognize and commend
NEW JERSEY USABILITY DAY
in New Jersey.
